Teachers’ Challenges and Students’ Response to Project-Based Learning in English Subject

This study was conducted to (1) describe project-based learning in the English subject at vocational high school (SMK Kesehatan Kaltara); (2) challenges or difficulties teachers encountered implementing and (3) reveal students’ responses on PjBL implementation. applied a mixed method (Creswell, 2014). The data were collected with observation, questionnaires, interviews. Then, they analyzed using Miles Huberman formula, including reduction, display, conclusions: drawing/verifying. Based analysis, findings indicate that: had successfully implemented learning; found some following problems: lack of time, resources tools preparation, difficulty distributing whole topic for different groups, time limitation class, monitoring activities groups their members, general students have positive all aspects.
